Our N/ATION Review:
Brooklyn, New York continues to be an epicenter of the NA movement, and its Momentum Brewery is a standout in the field. Brewed in partnership with Great South Bay Brewery (but under the direction of their own brewmaster, Alexander Himburg), Momentum came on the scene in late 2023, and has slowly expanded their portfolio of terrific non-alcoholic brews. Starting with a Hazy IPA and a Golden, they’ve now expanded to include a Kolsch, Black IPA, and a Pilsner.
First impressions of the Pilsner included a light hazy color. Not a lot going on in the nose, but for a pale lager we didn’t mind that at all. Very crisp, clean taste, and with Mosaic, Simcoe and Amarillo hops present, still quite flavorful. There was a subtle, dry attenuation that any good German-style pilsner should have, which definitely appealed to our palette. All in all, this is an excellent choice for a lighter styled non-alcoholic brew.
As for where you can find the Dry Series Pilsner in the wild, your best bet for now is to buy some online, or look for it in and around New York and other parts of the Northeast.
